The Story so far....
Bob Hood's career as an enthusiastic rugby player, successful rugby coach and mentor spans over four decades.
His rugby journey really took shape whilst playing for Baildon RUFC from the age of 15 to 18 and then went on to gain a BEd (Hons) degree from the Carnegie School of Physical Education. After captaining the First XV he went on to represent Roundhay, Headingley, Bradford and Bradford and Bingley Rugby Clubs enjoying every second of the 300 games he was lucky enough to play after making his senior debut against Bath at the Recreation Ground, whilst playing for Roundhay.
In that time he was selected for the Yorkshire Colts squad, represented NE Colleges, England Colleges, British Polytechnics and was a final England Student trialist.
Then whilst at the end of his playing career he found himself in the world of coaching. He quickly progressed through the Rugby Football Union's coaching awards and now holds the prestigious Level 4 Award.
He has since coached Baildon RUFC, Bradford and Bingley RFC, and Yarnbury RFC.
His coaching journey was not confined to club level as he went on to become an International Head Coach to the England Counties Senior XV, England U20 Counties XV, and County Head Coach to the Yorkshire Senior XV and the Yorkshire U21/20XV.
He was awarded Coach of The Year for Rugby Union by Sport England (Yorkshire and Humberside) in 1999 and 2000
He now work's for the RFU as a Senior Rugby Developer delivering Level 2 and 3 Coaching Awards and mentoring Level 3 and Level 4 coaches at all levels of the game.
Bob’s mission is to share his wealth of experience with coaches and players of all levels and ages, to ensure the game continues to flourish by focusing on a player centred approach. With this goal in mind, he founded Rugby Union Coaching Services (RUCS)

(PE, Music and Drama), Assistant Head Teacher, Advanced Skills Teacher now Lead Practitioner. Senior Leadership experience for a number of years in a large comprehensive school in Leeds. Also he has worked as an Educational Consultant delivering Academic Coaching in over 60 schools

Yorkshire Senior Head Coach. Three National titles achieved at Twickenham.

Yorkshire U20/U21 Head Coach. Achieved eight National titles at Twickenham and one runners up.
